CVE-2025-34288

Root code execution via writable PHP include

Published Dec 16, 2025 · Updated Dec 16, 2025

Local privilege escalation in Nagios XI before 2026R1.1 allows local users with application-account access to execute code as root. A sudo-enabled maintenance script executes as root and includes constants.inc.php even though the application account can write that file. Application-account access is required; modifying the include causes attacker-supplied PHP to run with root privileges when the maintenance script executes.
