Authenticated command execution via WinRM parameter injection
Published Oct 30, 2025 · Updated Oct 30, 2025
OS command injection in the WinRM plugin in Nagios XI before 2024R2 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. The WinRM wizard backend handlers incorporate user-supplied parameters containing shell metacharacters into backend command invocations without sufficient validation. Administrator access is required, and commands run as the Nagios XI web application user with access to host data, configuration, and monitoring operations.
