Session compromise via unsanitized device group metadata
Published Dec 5, 2025 · Updated Aug 14, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Advantech WISE-DeviceOn Server before 5.4 allows remote authenticated users to compromise viewer sessions. The /rmm/v1/devicegroups/ endpoint stores device-group name and description values and later renders them in listings without HTML sanitation. An authenticated user must create the crafted group, and script execution occurs when another user views or interacts with it, enabling session theft or actions with the victim's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
