Authenticated stored XSS via unsanitized task name
Published Dec 5, 2025 · Updated Aug 14, 2026
Stored XSS in Advantech WISE-DeviceOn Server before 5.4 allows remote authenticated users to hijack viewer sessions via crafted task names. The /rmm/v1/action/defined endpoint stores defined_name, and the Overview page renders that value without HTML sanitization. Task-creation access is required, and execution occurs only when another user views the affected task, enabling actions in that user's browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
