Credential theft via world-readable cleartext secrets
Published Oct 2, 2025 · Updated Oct 2, 2025
Plaintext credential storage in Vasion Print Application and Virtual Appliance Host allows local users to read appliance secrets. Configuration, backup, log, and Docker database files under /etc/printercloud, /var/www/efs_storage, and /var/lib/docker store secrets in plaintext with permissions that expose them beyond their intended owners. Local host-filesystem access is required; stolen database, application, and administrative credentials enable appliance compromise, while Vasion disputes the finding.
