Credential theft via writable cross-container storage
Published Sep 19, 2025 · Updated Sep 19, 2025
Improper permissions in all versions of Vasion Print Application and Virtual Appliance Host allow attackers controlling a container to read secrets. The /var/www/efs_storage host volume is mounted read-write into many Docker containers while secrets.env, .secrets, session files, and database keys have broad permissions. Control of a mounted container is the gate; exposed database, Portainer, and Laravel keys enable credential theft, session access, secret modification, and code execution.
