Database takeover via unauthenticated credential-reset script
Published Sep 19, 2025 · Updated Sep 19, 2025
Dangerous PHP dead code in Vasion Print Application before 20.0.1923 and Host before 22.0.843 allows remote attackers to reset database credentials. The unauthenticated /var/www/app/resetroot.php script runs a SQL update that renames the database administrator to root and replaces its password hash with the SHA-512 hash of password. Reaching the web endpoint is sufficient for database takeover; separately, commented session code calls unserialize() on session data but is not executable unless re-enabled.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
