Authenticated file enumeration via unsanitized iplist path
Published Sep 9, 2025 · Updated Sep 9, 2025
Path traversal in the pfSense CE Snort package 4.1.6_25 allows remote authenticated users to enumerate files through the webGUI. In /usr/local/www/snort/snort_ip_reputation.php, both list handlers pass the iplist POST value directly to file_exists(), permitting traversal outside the IP reputation directory. Access requires WebCfg - Services: Snort package permission; responses disclose only whether paths exist, not file contents.
