Administrator RCE via writable BPI file paths
Published Oct 30, 2025 · Updated Oct 30, 2025
Remote code execution in Nagios XI before 2024R1.4.2 allows remote authenticated users to run commands through BPI file settings. The BPI component accepts administrator-controlled bpi_logfile and bpi_configfile paths without adequate validation, allowing executable files to be created or overwritten in the webroot and edited through the configuration editor. Administrative access is required, and successful exploitation runs commands with the Nagios XI web application user's privileges.
