Unauthenticated file disclosure via serialized backup paths
Published Jul 16, 2025 · Updated Nov 19, 2025
Path traversal in LimeSurvey 2.0+ through 2.06+ Build 151014 allows remote attackers to read host files through the backup endpoint. The endpoint decodes attacker-controlled datasupdateinfo objects and archives their unvalidated file paths into a downloadable ZIP. No authentication is required, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the web-server account.
