CVE-2025-34101Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated command execution via unsanitized VIDEO parameter

Published Jul 10, 2025 · Updated May 14, 2026

Command injection in Serviio Media Server 1.4 through 1.8 on Windows allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands. The checkStreamUrl method passes the unvalidated VIDEO parameter from /rest/action into cmd.exe, where shell metacharacters are interpreted as commands. The console REST API listens on port 23423 by default without access controls, so network reachability is sufficient for execution under the server process privileges.
