CVE-2025-34098Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated file disclosure via log filter expansion

Published Jul 10, 2025 · Updated May 14, 2026

Path traversal in Riverbed SteelHead VCX 9.6.0a allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary system files through log filtering. The log_filter backend passes the filterStr expression to a parser that expands a supplied file path and returns matching file contents as log rows. Valid management credentials are required, and the demonstrated consequence is disclosure of files readable by the appliance service.
