Administrator-triggered PHP execution via malicious plugin archive
Published Jul 10, 2025 · Updated May 15, 2026
Unrestricted plugin upload in ProcessMaker before 3.5.4 allows remote authenticated users with administrator roles to execute PHP code. The /setup/pluginsImportFile endpoint accepts a crafted .tar archive whose plugin install() method runs attacker-supplied PHP as the web server user. An administrator role is required for direct exploitation; a separate privilege-escalation flaw can extend the chain to a low-privileged account.
