Authenticated file disclosure via unchecked backup paths
Published Jul 2, 2025 · Updated Nov 29, 2025
Path traversal in Microweber CMS 1.2.11 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read server files through the backup API. BackupController resolves the upload endpoint's absolute src path and moves the referenced file into backup storage without requiring it to remain under userfiles. An authenticated session is required; the operation can disclose the moved file through download and can delete or relocate it when service permissions allow.
