Unauthenticated file read via default credentials and traversal
Published Jul 1, 2025 · Updated Jul 14, 2026
Path traversal in Hikvision Streaming Media Management Server 2.3.5 allows remote attackers to read sensitive files after default login. The /systemLog/downFile.php endpoint uses the attacker-controlled fileName path for retrieval without confining it to the intended directory. Built-in credentials provide the required session, exposing files readable by the server account without reported write access.
