Authenticated arbitrary file deletion via unchecked package paths
Published Apr 19, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Path traversal in Download Manager 3.3.12 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary server files via package paths. The savePackage function accepts attacker-controlled file paths without restricting resolution to an intended directory before deleting referenced files. Author-level access is required; deleting wp-config.php can expose the site to remote code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
