Host code execution via writable binary mounts
Published May 21, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Container escape in Versa Networks Versa Concerto 12.1.2 through 12.2.0 allows local users to execute code on the host. The core-service container bind-mounts the host's /usr/bin and /bin directories as writable, so container-root processes can replace host binaries. Exploitation requires root access inside the container and a host process that subsequently invokes a replaced binary, resulting in host-level code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
