Local code execution via unsafe quantization deserialization
Published Mar 24, 2026 · Updated Mar 24, 2026
Deserialization of untrusted data in NVIDIA Megatron-LM before 0.15.3 allows local users to execute code through a quantization configuration. The quantization configuration loader processes untrusted serialized data unsafely; NVIDIA has not published the responsible file, function, or serialization format. Exploitation requires local low-privilege access, and successful execution can expose or alter data and elevate privileges in the affected process context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
