CVE-2025-33234

Local code execution via shell command assembly

Published Jan 27, 2026 · Updated Jan 27, 2026

OS command injection in all versions of NVIDIA runx on Linux allows local users to execute commands through crafted experiment data. The exec_cmd helper passes a command assembled from YAML CMD and hyperparameter values to subprocess.run with shell=True without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and runs code with the runx process's privileges, enabling data disclosure or modification and a service crash.
