CVE-2025-33112

Local code execution via improper pathname neutralization

Published Jun 10, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Relative path traversal in IBM AIX 7.3 and IBM VIOS 4.1.1 Perl allows local users to execute arbitrary code via crafted pathnames. The Perl implementation fails to neutralize relative pathname input; IBM has not disclosed the affected function or exact unsafe operation. A non-privileged local account is required, and successful exploitation runs code in the affected operating-system context.
