CVE-2025-32969Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated SQL execution via incomplete HQL validation

Published Apr 23, 2025 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

SQL injection in XWiki Platform allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary database statements through an unauthenticated REST query. The REST query resource passes the attacker-controlled q parameter as short-form HQL, while the validator accepts that form without parsing the completed SELECT, allowing backend-specific syntax to escape into SQL. No authentication or user interaction is required, even on private wikis; successful requests can extract password hashes and, depending on the database, insert, update, or delete data.
