Database disclosure and modification via short-form HQL injection
Published Apr 23, 2025 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
SQL injection in XWiki Platform before 15.10.16, 16.4.6, or 16.10.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary SQL. The short-form HQL query path accepts a select fragment that escapes its intended query context because it lacks the complete-query validation applied elsewhere. SCRIPT right is required; successful requests can read password hashes and, with a permissive database backend, alter or delete stored data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 16.0.0-rc-1, < 16.4.6
