CVE-2025-32967Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Audit-trail evasion via omitted password-change events

Published May 23, 2025 · Updated May 23, 2025

Insufficient logging in OpenEMR before 7.0.3.4 allows remote authenticated users to change passwords without a specific audit record. The user-interface password-change workflow creates no visible Update event in the client-side log viewer, while the database records only a vague update that does not identify the action. Any administrator, and potentially any account permitted to change a password, can create this audit gap, hindering detection and forensic attribution without interrupting service.
