Authenticated code execution via malicious restore archive
Published Mar 31, 2026 · Updated Mar 31, 2026
Unsafe file upload in baserCMS before 5.2.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code through a crafted restore archive. The database restore service extracts an uploaded ZIP and passes an archive-supplied PHP filename to require_once without validation or restriction. Administrative access to database restore is required, and successful exploitation grants code execution in the web server context.
