Administrator-level file read via path traversal
Published Apr 17, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Path traversal in Benjamin Rojas WP Editor 1.2.9.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files. The public advisory and patch changelog identify AJAX file handling as the affected surface but do not disclose the handler or path parameter that fails to confine traversal. Administrator-level WordPress access is required, and exploitation exposes files readable by the web server without altering them.
