CVE-2025-32919Public exploit

Local System escalation via replaceable temporary script

Published Oct 9, 2025 · Updated Oct 9, 2025

Local privilege escalation in the Checkmk Windows Agent allows local users to execute arbitrary code as Local System through the win_license plugin. The plugin copies slmgr.vbs to the predictable, globally writable C:\Windows\Temp\checkmk_slmgr.vbs path, then executes that file without preventing replacement. A low-privileged Windows account can win the copy-to-execute race only when the Windows License plugin is enabled; its default one-minute execution requires no victim interaction.
