Device impersonation via truncated verification code

Insufficient verification-code entropy in KDE Connect protocol before 2025-04-18 allows adjacent attackers to impersonate devices. Pairing truncates a value derived from the devices' public keys to eight characters and reuses the same code between the same devices, enabling offline key-pair search. An attacker on the same network must find a colliding key pair and have it accepted during pairing, gaining the trust assigned to the impersonated device.
