Local packet disclosure via USB UART mirroring
Published May 1, 2025 · Updated May 1, 2025
Information disclosure in goTenna v1 app 5.5.3 and firmware 0.25.5 allows local users to intercept RF packet data over USB UART. The device sends every RF packet to the UART when USB Shell is active, exposing protocol details and packet contents through the wired interface. Physical connection to the device's USB interface is required; the reported effect is read-only disclosure, with no integrity or availability impact.
