CVE-2025-32881

Phone-number disclosure via cleartext GID transmission

Published May 1, 2025 · Updated May 1, 2025

Cleartext transmission in goTenna App 5.5.3 with v1 firmware 0.25.5 allows physically proximate attackers to read phone-number GIDs. The app places the GID, which defaults to the user's phone number unless changed, into radio messages without encryption. Radio reception range and retention of the default GID are required, and exploitation exposes the number tied to the device without altering messages or interrupting service.
