Code execution via malformed DOE file parsing
Published Apr 8, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Rockwell Automation Arena 16.20.08 and earlier allows local users to execute code by opening a malicious DOE file. The DOE file parser inadequately validates user-supplied data and reads outside the allocated memory buffer. Exploitation requires a legitimate user to open the file and exposes memory contents while enabling arbitrary code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
