Educator-browser script execution via unsanitized quiz history
Published Apr 11, 2025 · Updated Apr 11, 2025
Stored XSS in W. W. Norton InQuizitive through 2025-04-08 allows remote authenticated users to run script via crafted quiz history fields. Student-controlled Score.history entries accept raw HTML in bonus descriptions, feedback.choice_fb[], and question_id, which later render without neutralization in educator-facing views. A student account and an educator opening an affected report or feedback view are required; the script executes with the educator's web-session privileges.
