Local privilege escalation via unrestricted API file paths

Kea DHCP 2.4.0 through 2.4.1, 2.6.0 through 2.6.2, and 2.7.0 through 2.7.8 allows local users to overwrite writable files. Configuration and API directives accept attacker-chosen paths without confining writes to approved directories, while insecure control-socket paths permit service impersonation. A local unprivileged account must reach an unsecured API or insecure control socket; root-run deployments expose arbitrary local files, enabling privilege escalation or system-wide service interruption.
