CVE-2025-32801

Local privilege escalation via arbitrary hook loading

Published May 28, 2025 · Updated May 28, 2025

Code injection in Kea DHCP 2.4.0 through 2.4.1, 2.6.0 through 2.6.2, and 2.7.0 through 2.7.8 lets local users execute code. Unsecured control-agent endpoints or permissive control sockets accept configuration directives naming an arbitrary local hook library and load it into a DHCP daemon. A local unprivileged account, a writable library file, and API access are required; code runs with the daemon's privileges, commonly root.
