CVE-2025-3277Network attack vector

Code execution via concat_ws integer overflow

Published Apr 14, 2025 · Updated May 27, 2025

Heap-buffer overflow in SQLite 3.44.0 through 3.49.0 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via an enormous concat_ws() separator. In src/func.c, concat_ws() calculates the output allocation with a 32-bit product that wraps, then copies the full result beyond the undersized heap buffer. Reachability requires control of the function’s first argument, a separator larger than 2 MB, many arguments, and an application that executes attacker-controlled SQL.
