Local privilege escalation via use-after-free
Published May 13, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Use-after-free in Microsoft Windows Common Log File System Driver allows local users to elevate privileges through local access. The driver accesses an object after its memory has been freed, but Microsoft has not disclosed the object type, triggering request, or affected code path. An authenticated low-privilege account and local execution are required, and successful exploitation grants SYSTEM privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
