Suppressed log disclosure via swapped restriction constants
Published Apr 10, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Information disclosure in MediaWiki before 1.39.12, 1.42.6, and 1.43.1 allows remote authenticated users to reveal suppressed log data. LogPager.php's enforceActionRestrictions() and enforcePerformerRestrictions() compare log_deleted bits against the opposite suppression constants, causing filtered searches to return entries for suppressed targets or performers. An account with deletedhistory but without suppression rights must know or brute-force a suppressed title or username; the disclosure confirms its existence and associated log activity.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
