Arbitrary plugin installation via missing nonce validation
Published Apr 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Anant Addons for Elementor 1.1.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to install arbitrary plugins. The anant_install_plugin() function accepts installation requests without correctly validating a WordPress nonce, allowing forged requests to invoke plugin installation. Exploitation requires an administrator to follow an attacker-controlled link or submit a crafted form, after which an attacker-selected plugin can be installed on the site.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
