Unauthenticated administrator escalation via predictable recovery values
Published Sep 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Weak password recovery in Material Dashboard 1.4.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to obtain WordPress administrator privileges. The publicAjaxHandler() function generates password-recovery values with insufficient randomness, making those values predictable. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation grants full administrator control of the affected WordPress site.
