CVE-2025-32464Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Worker-pool crash via unchecked global replacements

Published Apr 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Heap-based buffer overflow in HAProxy 2.2 through 3.1.6 allows remote attackers to crash all workers via crafted request data. The sample_conv_regsub function checks remaining space in the output buffer but copies each expanded global replacement into the unchecked temporary trash buffer. Exposure requires a configuration that globally replaces multiple short matches with a longer static string; the replacement is not attacker-controlled, limiting the demonstrated impact to service interruption.
