CVE-2025-32462Public exploit

Local privilege escalation via user-controlled host option

Published Jun 30, 2025 · Updated Jul 14, 2026

Incorrect authorization in sudo before 1.9.17p1 allows local users to execute commands under host-restricted rules. The command-line parser accepts -h while running a command or editing a file, and the sudoers policy check treats that user-supplied host as the authorization target. A listed local user and a sudoers entry naming a different host are required; the affected sudo component is also present in SIDIS Secured SmartPlug before V7.26.0310.
