Untrusted pointer dereference in Intel QuickAssist Technology Windows software before 2.6.0 allows local users to escalate privileges. The Ring 3 user-application path dereferences an untrusted pointer, but Intel has not disclosed the affected function or how the pointer is accepted. A locally authenticated low-privileged user can trigger the flaw without user interaction or special internal knowledge, compromising system integrity without reported confidentiality or availability impact.
