Script execution via unencoded import-preview fields
Published Apr 11, 2025 · Updated Apr 11, 2025
Cross-site scripting in Verbb Formie's import preview before 2.1.44 allows context-dependent attackers to execute script via crafted JSON. ImportExportController places field label and handle values from the uploaded JSON into preview output without HTML encoding. Exploitation requires deliberate export-file tampering and an authorized user to import the file and view its preview, exposing that user's browser context.
