Application crash via stale identity-constraint pointer
Published Apr 17, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Heap buffer under-read in XMLSoft libxml2 before 2.13.8 and 2.14.0 through 2.14.1 allows local users to crash consuming applications. xmlSchemaIDCFillNodeTables reuses a stale local pointer while filling identity-constraint node tables, causing an access before the allocated heap buffer. The crash path requires validation of a crafted schema or a crafted XML document against a schema containing certain identity constraints.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
