CVE-2025-32391Network attack vector

Stored XSS via same-origin SVG uploads

Published Apr 10, 2025 · Updated Apr 10, 2025

Stored XSS in HedgeDoc before 1.10.3 allows remote attackers to execute script through a directly opened malicious SVG upload. HedgeDoc serves uploaded SVG content from /uploads without download-only and restrictive CSP headers, while its default script policy trusts GitHub Gist JSONP endpoints. Exploitation requires same-origin filesystem uploads, upload access, the default CSP, and a user to open the SVG directly; it can read or alter data accessible to that user's session.
