Credential harvesting via permissive KB article sanitization

Published May 12, 2025 · Updated May 12, 2025

Stored HTML injection in EspoCRM before 9.0.8 allows remote authenticated users to harvest credentials through malicious KB articles. The Knowledge Base article renderer's permissive DOMPurify configuration retains form actions, submit behavior, and full-page positioning from author-supplied HTML. An attacker must be able to create an article and persuade a user with KB read access to open it and submit credentials to the counterfeit login form.
