Content spoofing via unrestricted ImageHandler text rendering
Published Apr 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 9, 2025
UI misrepresentation in DNN Platform before 9.13.4 allows remote attackers to place chosen text in ImageHandler output through a crafted URL. GenerateImage copies the Text query parameter into placeHolderTrans.Text without a configuration gate, causing attacker-controlled text to be drawn into the returned image. A victim must follow the crafted URL and trust its DNN domain; the bounded consequence is deceptive image content, not data disclosure or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
