CVE-2025-32349

Local privilege escalation via prolonged untrusted overlays

Published Sep 4, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Tapjacking in the Android Framework on Android 13 through 16 allows local users to escalate privileges through untrusted UI overlays. The window manager honors custom exit animations for non-system overlays and untrusted Toasts instead of forcing a short trusted animation. A low-privileged app can keep deceptive UI visible while a protected screen opens, and exploitation needs no additional user interaction.
