CVE-2025-32327

Local privilege escalation via unescaped projection aliases

Published Sep 4, 2025 · Updated Sep 4, 2025

SQL injection in Android 14 and 15 MediaProvider allows local users to access protected data through crafted Photo Picker projections. PickerDbFacade.getMediaStoreProjectionLocked placed an unsupported caller-supplied projection name into a raw NULL AS alias without quoting or validation. Low-privileged local access and no user interaction suffice to inject SQL into the picker database query, exposing data available to MediaProvider and enabling local privilege escalation.
