Local privilege escalation via incorrect bounds check
Published Mar 2, 2026 · Updated Mar 2, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in Android 14 through 16 allows local users to escalate privileges via UsageEvents processing. UsageEvents.java applies an incorrect bounds check while processing UsageEvents data, permitting a write beyond the intended boundary. Exploitation requires local access but no additional execution privileges or user interaction, and successful exploitation grants elevated privileges.
