ReDoS in Wikimedia Foundation MediaWiki Extension:VisualData 1.39 through 1.43 allows remote attackers to interrupt HTTP service. SubmitForm passes user-controlled formula text to preg_replace_callback with overlapping quantified regex groups, causing third-degree polynomial backtracking. No authentication or user interaction is required; crafted formula input triggers excessive regex processing and interrupts HTTP service.
